Mindfulness Monday: October 9th

Today's activity: Take a break!


The start-up month of school is over and as we’re getting into the second month, here’s a quick reminder to take a break!


We’re all absorbed by the amount of work we’re having—assignments, projects, tests, you name it. Even when we’re not doing work, we’re in extracurriculars, texting friends, helping family—it can be overwhelming. So remember to slow down and take a break from the business of our life.


You can put on some calming music. Find a comfortable place to sit, piled up on pillows, or grab your favourite stuffed animal. Wear some cozy clothes and maybe brew a cup of hot chocolate. It’s getting cooler now! Take a few deep breaths to start the mood and go off from there. Have 15-20 minutes just to yourself. Whether that means observing what’s around you, airing out some thoughts, just cuddling up in a blanket, make sure it’s something that helps you relax and feel comfortable. You don’t have to follow any norms, just whatever taking a break means to you.
